How’s your Corona-Rig? Not a line I ever expected to open with, and for those of you who are bewildered by my choice of words, I’m referring to your WFH (work from home) setup.
Have you taken over the dining room table? Or purchased a nifty beanbag for the corner of the lounge? Are you confined to the attic so mum’s hoovering doesn’t disturb calls? Or taken inspiration from the boy who lived and commandeered the cupboard under the stairs?
Whatever your workspace, I’m sure by now you’re at least semi-comfortable, and have found a sense of normality in ‘going to work’ each day.
On the topic of comfy, unless you’re one of those ‘method workers’ who needs to don a full suit to get into the right headspace when WFH, I imagine you’ve been enjoying life in loungewear?
Whether you have or have not, I wanted to bring these five brands to your attention, who offer extremely snug loungewear, ideal for this kind of situation.
My friends will know I've been a big fan of this brand for some time, due to their unique take on menswear, which seamlessly blends comfort and style. A personal favourite is their track(suit) collection, which fuses formalwear and athleisure wear, to creates a distinctive and slick outcome.
Prévu have a premium loungewear offering that ticks all the boxes. Founder Jake Hall has struck a happy medium between contemporary design and everyday elegance. E.g. The crease in their bottoms is a beautifully subtle detail.
You also absolutely get what you pay for with this brand - the quality of fabric used is awesome, leading to maximum coziness.
A brand with two clear focal points; fit and fabric - and you can't really argue with that.
I often hear people referring to their 'comfies' as big, baggy joggers and an oversized hoody but this brand proves it doesn't always have to be like that.
Well-fitted pieces, made from premium quality fabrics can provide even more satisfaction in loungewear...Relinquish the slob mentality and nip to the shops happy with what you're wearing!
A brand that in the past few years has mainly been associated with a crop of paid partnerships with former Love Island contestants. That may be so (and by the way I'm not knocking them in the slightest - I imagine sales went through the roof each time they launched a new ambassador) but they also deserve airtime for their super affordable and very comfy loungewear.
Err on the side of caution if you're not a fan of slim fit bottoms and elasticated everything, but I myself recently picked up a couple of their twin sets and will definitely be going back for more.
A household name but perhaps often swerved by Millennials and Generation Z...If you're one of these people, I'd advise you think again. This established menswear outlet really knows how to produce quality garments that feel awesome on and encourage relaxation.
Put it this way; if it's good enough for David Gandy, it's definitely good enough for you.
A brand I've only recently become familiar with thanks to my friend Marius and his emerging curated collection of sustainable, ethical and conscious lifestyle brands A.K.A. Kaizen Marketplace.
Kotn are based in Canada, with their garments ethically and sustainably made in the Nile Delta. They specialise in quality basics from 100% Egyptian cotton, with every purchase funding new schools.
Oh, and one more thing; they look great on.
What are you waiting for, get involved!
So, there you have it - five brands to get you through isolation for now. Good luck and happy chilling!
